Alliance Leadership Summit
set for February 26 and 27

Registration is open for the third biennial Alliance Leadership Summit taking place February 26 and 27 in Springfield at the Wyndham Springfield City Centre. IASB is again partnering with the Illinois Association of School Administrators (IASA), Illinois Association of School Business Officials (Illinois ASBO), and Illinois Principals Association (IPA) for the two-day advocacy training and legislative engagement event.

A complete schedule has not yet been announced, but summit leaders will host a legislative reception on Tuesday, February 26 from 5 to 6:30 p.m., and will sponsor afternoon visits to the capitol and meetings with lawmakers the following day, February 27.
Dr. Jeffrey McCausland

Dr. Jeffrey McCausland, U.S. Army colonel (retired), will be a featured speaker, delivering the presentation, “Lincoln, Strategic Vision, and Managing a Crisis.” McCausland will examine President Lincoln’s ability to formulate a strategic vision and communicate it to the nation, and how that can translate to lessons for modern leaders.

Also on the agenda will be a media analyst panel presented by journalists who cover state government and an update from lobbyists of the Illinois Statewide School Management Alliance. Governor-elect J.B. Pritzker and the Illinois state superintendent of education have been invited to address Summit attendees.

Registration cost is $165 per person and includes Leadership Summit materials, two lunches, and a Wednesday breakfast. Districts are encouraged to attend through a leadership team that includes the superintendent, one board member, one principal, and one school business official, but any such combination is welcome.

District superintendents are responsible for registering the team through the IASA website. Block housing and additional information about the event is available on the Alliance Leadership Summit webpage.
