NSBA announces keynotes, registration for 2019 conference

The National School Board Association (NSBA) Annual Conference and Exposition is a national event that brings together education leaders for over 250 educational programs, including three inspirational general sessions. Registration is open for the 2019 conference, to be held March 30 - April 1, 2019 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.

NSBA represents state school boards associations and their more than 90,000 local school board members. Each year, Illinois is represented at the national conference, as presenters and participants, by school board members, other district representatives, and IASB staff. Topics covered include

  • Master Class (innovative approaches to improve student achievement)
  • New School Board Member Workshops
  • School Board/Superintendent Partnerships
  • Student Achievement and Accountability
  • Study Halls (interactive 30-minute sessions led by experts and their school district clients)
  • Technology + Learning Solutions
General Session speakers for 2019 include (as of December 15), Sir Ken Robinson, an author and speaker who is an authority in creativity and innovation in education and business, and Johnny C. Taylor, Jr., president and CEO of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
