Referendum deadlines
just around the corner

Deadlines are nearing to finalize requirements for putting a referendum on the ballot for the upcoming November general election.

Monday, August 20 is the last day for local boards to adopt a resolution to place binding or advisory public policy questions on the ballot. Thursday, August 30 is the final day for the county clerk to certify any binding questions on the general election ballot to the State Board of Elections.

Petitions signed by voters and circulators for referenda of public policy questions must be filed by Monday, August 6.
