School design projects submitted

Twenty-six school projects have been submitted for judging in the 2016 Invitational Exhibition of Educational Environments, sponsored by IASB Service Associates.

Awards in the 28th annual competition will be decided by a blind jury pool of architects and superintendents on Sep. 15 at IASB offices in Springfield.

Winning projects will be announced at the First General Session on Friday, Nov. 18 at the Joint Annual Conference. In addition to the Award of Distinction winners, the highest level, the jury will choose project winners for Awards of Merit, and Honorable Mention.

School design entries will be on display at the Joint Annual Conference.

All 26 entries in this year’s exhibit will be on display throughout the Conference. All entries will be added to IASB’s School Design Data File, as well. The searchable online database is available for use by IASB member districts and their architectural firms. The file is updated each year after the competition and currently contains more than 500 Illinois public school design projects in the School Design Database.
